Description

Smooth, Warm and Elegant: Social Smoke French Vanilla

Social Smoke French Vanilla is described as an elegant blend of pure vanilla and exotic spices. The wording is short and does not name the specific spices, so we leave that to your palate.

Why this made the cut (Speed Hookah Pick)

Vanilla is one of the most requested building blocks in hookah mixing, so a good one is a must for us. French Vanilla made the cut because the spice note gives it depth. The manufacturer states the tobacco is unwashed flue-cured Virginia, made for thick, long-lasting clouds and cut for even heat distribution, which is handy for a flavor that likes steady, gentle heat. Social Smoke has been a brand since 2003 and has made its own tobacco since 2010, and that experience shows in a core flavor like this one.

The Sensory Experience

• The Inhale: The draw is smooth and vanilla-forward, with a subtle hint of the exotic spice the brand mentions.
• The Exhale: The exhale stays warm and rounded, and the spice lingers softly after the vanilla fades.
• The Buzz: Moderate. This is unwashed Virginia leaf, so it tends to feel a little fuller than a washed blonde leaf.

Expert Packing & Heat Management

We usually go with a fluff pack or a gentle semi-dense pack in a phunnel bowl, with foil or an HMD, on 2 to 3 coconut cubes of 25 to 26 mm. Vanilla can turn bitter if it gets too hot, so keep the heat modest and add a little only if the flavor fades. Patience gives a smoother session.

A tin of French Vanilla is one of the most flexible things you can own. Add a little to a fruit blend for roundness, or pair it with a spiced flavor for a bakery feel. On its own it is an easy, calm session that does not demand much attention or fine-tuning.
