Description

Sharp, Clean and Zesty: Social Smoke Lime

Social Smoke Lime is described by the manufacturer as a zesty lime blend with a tart, smooth finish. It keeps the focus squarely on the lime.

Why this made the cut (Speed Hookah Pick)

Lime is a building block for a lot of popular mixes, so we wanted a reliable one on the shelf. The brand says it uses unwashed flue-cured Virginia tobacco, cut and prepared for easy packing and even heat distribution, and it has made its own tobacco since 2010. It also gives mixers a dependable tart option, so you can build your own blends without guessing how the lime will behave.

The Sensory Experience

• The Inhale: A zesty, tart lime pull that wakes up the palate.
• The Exhale: The tartness softens into a smooth finish that does not feel too sharp.
• The Buzz: Moderate. This is unwashed Virginia leaf, so it tends to feel a little fuller than a washed blonde leaf.

Expert Packing & Heat Management

We like a semi-dense pack in a bowl phunnel with foil or HMD and 2 to 3 coconut cubes (25 mm). Lime can get bitter when overheated, so keep it on the gentle side and loosen the pack if the taste turns harsh. In blends, lime pairs well with mint, melon and berry flavors. Keep its share moderate so the tartness stays pleasant and does not take over.

Who Will Love It

Lime is a staple, and a straightforward one is a handy thing to keep around. Smoke it solo for a tart, tidy session, or use it to add zing to a fruit or mint blend. It is a good choice for anyone who likes a clean, bright flavor. Keep it near the front of your collection if you like to experiment, because a clean lime makes it easy to tweak a blend one small step at a time. It also suits anyone who simply likes the sharp, zesty bite of fresh citrus and wants it without extra sweetness.
